Summer at the Lake of the Ozarks means taking the boat out and enjoying a beautiful day on the water. The last thing a boat owner wants to experience is finding their boat has suffered damage from vandals, wild Missouri weather, or a failed boat lift. Besides the cost and frustration, a boat out of commission can ruin vacation plans. Boat owners need their watercraft to be in good working order the minute they are ready to get out on the water.

For boat owners who do not live at the Lake year-round, the peace of mind of knowing their boat is well protected against unforeseen disasters while they are away is essential.

Cue: ATI Security to the rescue!

ATI Security has been installing security systems, including cameras with two-way audio, around the Lake of the Ozarks for over ten years. Protecting their customers' property is their number-one priority. And recently added to their arsenal of security tools is one boat owners will find especially interesting: the Boatlift Watchdog, a security system that sends alerts to customers’ phones if any changes are detected with their boat lift.

After five years of testing out the Boatlift Watchdog, ATI Security’s owner, Scott Reaves, is ready to get the word out about how this product is a true game-changer for boat owners.

“I started brainstorming solutions for when boat lifts fail, and I came up with this,” Reaves said. The Boatlift Watchdog does not require Wi-Fi to work: it operates much like a regular alarm system that uses cellular radio waves to alert customers through an app.

Boat lifts fail for a number of reasons, including freezing temperatures, mistakes in the installation, or simple malfunctions that can cause the lift to drop and the boat to drift out into the Lake… all unbeknownst to the owner, who may be many miles away. The Boatlift Watchdog detects if the boat is tilted by 15 degrees or more, indicating the boat is likely partially in the Lake. Early alerts about lift failure could save the boat owner tens of thousands of dollars in repair costs.

Reaves recalls the first time the Boatlift Watchdog saved a boater’s bacon. A customer frantically called to tell him that the Boatlift Watchdog, which had been installed the day before, wasn’t working, because an alert was going off, on his phone.

“I asked him if he called the marina to see if his boat was still on the lift,” Reaves said, chuckling. “He had not.” Reaves says the marina confirmed that the boat lift had, indeed, failed. Without ATI Security’s Boatlift Watchdog guarding his boat, this out-of-town boat owner’s story could have had a very different and costly ending.

For the absolute best protection for boat owners at the Lake of the Ozarks, ATI Security’s Boatlift Watchdog has your back so your boat will be good to go when you are ready to get out on the Lake this summer.
