Konecranes continues to build on its strong sales momentum with Spanish port operators. It has secured a new order from CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal S.A.U. for seven hybrid Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) cranes. The order, placed in February 2025, is scheduled for delivery to the Port of Valencia in March 2026.
These new cranes will add to the fleet of 11 Konecranes hybrid RTGs already in operation at CSP Valencia’s terminals in Valencia and Bilbao. This investment highlights CSP Valencia’s commitment to reducing emissions in container handling.
Konecranes’ hybrid RTGs, featuring advanced hybrid drive technology, significantly cut fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to traditional diesel-powered RTGs. The new cranes will also be equipped with Active Load Control (ALC), Gantry Collision Prevention, and Truck Lift Prevention systems, enhancing both efficiency and safety at the terminal.
“This investment marks another crucial step towards achieving zero tailpipe emissions in our port operations. Our long-standing relationship with Konecranes, built on years of reliable performance, proves that their hybrid technology is the solution modern ports need,” said Gustavo Ferrer Soriano, General Manager at CSP Iberian Valencia.
The Konecranes Port Services team in Valencia plays a vital role in supporting CSP Valencia. Maintenance experts ensure the long-term reliability and performance of the equipment. Over the past decade, the services operation has expanded significantly, serving customers across the region.
“In collaboration with Konecranes, many port operators on the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands are transitioning to more sustainable operations. This is our third agreement for the region announced in 2025. The increasing adoption of our hybrid drive technology speaks volumes about achieving high operational performance while meeting sustainability goals,” said Darryn Scheepers, EMEA Sales Director, Konecranes, Port Solutions.
